For most students the experience of living in the Residence will be the first time they will be on their own. The staff at the Residence is here to help with this development into adulthood by providing support and assistance to each resident.

Choosing Seneca Residence
As a parent, you will want to ensure you go over the acceptance package with the resident. This will help to ensure both the resident and you understand the payment schedules, deadlines and all rules and regulations of residence.
If you haven’t already, book a tour of the Residence to better understand where the resident will be staying!
Transition to Independent Living
Moving away from home can be challenging for some students. A simple card or letter from home can provide comfort during this transition.
In the first few weeks, students will be busy with academics, social activities, and adjusting to a new environment. We remind you that you may not always be able to get a hold of them when you call.
Conflicts or Concerns
If your student experiences any issues in Residence, encourage them to speak with our trained staff. For roommate concerns, the first step should be talking to their Resident Advisor—this helps them learn to communicate and build positive relationships.

The Residence offers great security from the moment residents pass through the controlled access main entrance. Video cameras are located in all common areas, hallways and entrances. The front desk is also staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

The Resident Advisors are a team of fellow students who have been hired to act as a resource and guide for the residents. These Resident Advisors go through an extensive training program that is aimed at giving them the necessary skills to deal with any situation that may arise in Residence.
In addition to the resources offered at the Residence, there are many resources available to students:

Residence will communicate with the resident directly and is unable to share any personal information including but not limited to occupancy, room numbers, application status and account balance.

These contacts are used if concerns or problems arise with the resident. In most circumstances will be treated without reference to their parents or primary/secondary contacts. The manager of Institution may contact the primary or secondary contact at any time and of for any purpose including to advise them of an incident or injury; overdue finance; termination of residence agreement; any situation where the resident may cause harm to themselves or others; or if the resident is placed on probation and or issue behavioral contract or eviction by manager. The manager or the institution may disclose the resident personal information in such communications, and the resident hereby consent to this discloser.
